I guess I don't have to worry about this since the name that was used in the Mighty No. 9 credits isn't even my name anymore but since the game was mediocre, does anyone look back and wish they didn't get their names added to the credits? Of course not every backer got this luxury either.

So... I'll have to go do some digging to see if I still have the emoticons on one of the hard drives from the computers I had back when I first opened this place. Thankfully I still have those computers, but it'll probably take some time to find them. I apparently never brought them over to Jcink, since I never added them there... Just wanted to give a heads up on that lol.

Yeah this is the main reason why I wanted to bring this forum back to life. I'm sure if anyone is still keeping up with the fiasco that Mighty No. 9 was, you'd be surprised to see that a fan decided to partially port the game to the PS Vita and 3DS since Comcept never did deliver on these ports! (Well I guess that was a good thing though. The game was meh and the PS Vita didn't even last long lol.)

So PS Vita/3DS owners (including me now lol), have you downloaded this yet? I haven't got around to hacking either of my handhelds, whenever I eventually do I will give this a go. I wonder if he's going to continue it?

For those who are new and or are just lurking, here's a bit of backstory of this very forum Mighty No. 9 Universe. Back in September of 2013, Keiji Inafune (Mega Man creator) wanted to create a game that was supposed to be the spiritual successor to Mega Man. During this moment in time, Capcom wasn't really doing much with the franchise, and Keiji had left Capcom to work at a new company called Comcept. Comcept announced a kickstarter for Mighty No. 9, a game that was absolutely hyped and met lots of goals. I thought to myself "A fan community will be great! And since the official forums will only allow backers (or "beckers", named after the main protagonist), my forum will welcome all!"

So like that I started the forum on a now defunct platform called prophpbb. To my delight and surprise, the forum quickly grew and I even managed to hire some staff to help me make the community the best it could be! However, my co-admin @MechaGS couldn't have full control over the templates to edit the themes we had installed, so we had to move to self hosting. Still using phpBB3, Mighty No. 9 Universe went from free hosting to self hosting. However being the indecisive person that I am, months later we would move from Host Gator to Invision Cloud, this was back when it was $20 a month.

Of course it got to the point where I couldn't pay for the costs of hosting anymore. I was barely making over minimum wage at my job at Walmart, and thus I had to make the decision to move yet again. This time I went with Jcink, since it was free. Well turns out since we have a 18+ section, I had to pay for premium which was $10 cheaper but I still couldn't really keep up with the payments so the forum went offline in 2016.

Fast forward to the end of March 2024. I decided to dig out my old computer I had while Mighty No. 9 Universe was still online and I came across some old database backups of the site. With the recent news of a fan porting the game to the PS Vita and 3DS, I thought "You know I think now would be a good time to bring Mighty No. 9 Universe back online." I've been working on moving from Jcink to phpBB2, to finally going with SMF since I could never get the forum to upgrade properly from phpBB2 to phpBB3 for whatever reason. (I mean phpBB2 is old. I was even shocked that my hosting still allowed me to switch to php version 5.6 just to install the software to be able to convert from Jcink to phpBB2...) Anyways here we are now. I've been fixing broken quotes, images, etc. to bring this forum back from the grave. I don't expect many (or anyone at all) to log back into their accounts here but I wanted to bring the forum back anyways.

Okay with the recent news that a fan made ports of Mighty No. 9 to the Vita and 3DS, I wanted to revive this place again. This time back on self hosting, and yeah another software. :V (I will go over the history of this place in another thread.) I'm a much more experienced forum admin than I was when I first opened this place when I was 23. (I'll be 34 next month. :V) As you can see we've got this awesome theme made by my favorite Simple Machines Forum theme creator, Twitchismental. I have the forum icons saved from the Jcink forum but I'll have to see if my old desktop hard drive has the old emoticons. (Since I never bothered to bring them over from Invision to Jcink?) I don't expect this place to be popping, unfortunately most people these days stick to Reddit, social media, and Discord than forums. (I'm still a forum fan!) I mainly revived the community because even though the game was mediocre, it's still part of game history. (Or at least I view it that way.) So welcome back to those who got my email! Also please inform me if there's anything that's broken. Going from jcink to phpbb2 to smf caused many posts to be broken and I believe I fixed most of them. I can't really do anything about any old links that no longer work, I mean the forum first opened over a decade ago so I don't expect every link to work. Do let me know if you run into any wonky or broken posts.

 Yep Nintendo came out with yet another model of the 3DS, called the New 3DS. It's set to be released here in the US on February 13th, but it's already available to those who live in Japan and Australia. In every country, besides the US Nintendo is releasing a standard size model, and a XL version. However in the US, we're only getting the XL model. (Which is honestly okay with me... it's the model I would have gotten even if we had the choice.) I can see why people may be upset about that, seeing how you can change the cover plate on a standard New 3DS and you can't do that with the XL model. Also if you plan on getting a New 3DS hold on to your chargers, Nintendo isn't shipping them off with chargers. They claim they've done this so they could sell the handheld at the same price as the 3DS. (Though I've heard that the 3DS is getting a price cut soon, or it has already... :V) So my question is... are you getting the New 3DS? Also this new model has a faster processor than the original 3DS, and has longer battery life. Plus rumor has it that exclusive New 3DS games will be released in the future, taking advantage of the faster processor. I'll be getting one, I want to pre-order one with my next paycheck but I have to wait and see if I'll have enough money to even do that... :V

 Alright since we're very close to the release date I'm guessing most of us have determined what platform they will be getting the game for. So just for fun, let us know what platform you'll be playing MN9 on! As for me, most likely PC since I have a nice gaming rig now, though I'm getting a PS4 with my tax return so I might get the PS4 version. (Though I'm more leaning towards the PC version honestly...)

 Yes we are back online. There are a few issues and things I still need to fix. First off you need to change your passwords in order to log in, since they couldn't be converted over. If you need any help with that let either me or MechaGS know. Next I'm aware of the member ID bug we have from converting. I have emailed the main Jcink admin regarding the glitch. This is minor anyways so if it can't be fixed for whatever reason it's no big deal. Next I have transferred our domain name from one registrar to another. In the long run these moves will be cheaper for myself, since I'm paying for everything. So once it's done transferring and the domain name is pointing to the correct name servers you should be able to visit the site via our TLD. Finally I need to re-add all the beck emoticons. (As you can see I finally got around to adding the icons we had back when we were still using phpBB.) I'm sorry this process took a while... I kept running into issues with other hosts, and software. I also need to re-add some old BB codes we had too. (The spoiler and youtube tags are back.) Also posts need to be edited since there's many issues with how the bb code converted over. Oh and we need to upload our avatars again. I have a folder with everyone's old avatars if for whatever reason you can't find your old one and would like to use it again.

Damn I can't believe it's been a year since I first opened Mighty No. 9 Universe! Today also marks the 1 year anniversary of the Kickstarter project as well. To celebrate, I'll be looking for a new theme to install. Would you like to see another dark theme or a light theme? Let us know in this topic! (And on that note once I get sometime I'll add the icons to the theme finally. They've been sitting on my hard drive for a while... :V)

Why haven't I made a topic for this game here yet?! Dx Anyways I love this PC game. You basically play as a goat that is stuck in limbo, which is depicted as a tiny town. As the goat you destroy the city, and your actions reflect what type of goat you can play as. There's a section in the map that has a pentagram, a place to "sacrifice" goats and humans. This allows you to be the devil goat, while being a good goat allows you to be the angel goat. Also the devs will be releasing a new multiplayer patch on June 3rd,so you can play local multplayer, alongside the new feature they released a new map as well.

As the title states, does age really matter to you when you're in a relationship? I figure we could discuss this here as it's a serious topic I suppose. To me, age doesn't matter but of course as long as my partner is an adult. Age is but a number to me, and it doesn't measure how mature the person is. I mean I'm 24, and still act like a kid at some moments in time. So what are your views on this subject?

Ah yes, remember how we were hoping we'd get a Legends 3? And remember how Capcom crushed our dreams of getting it when they canceled the game? Well this fan decided to make it, while there is a 2-D fan game being worked on another guy decided to work on his own version, making it very accurate to what we could have had, if it wasn't for Capcom. I'm actually shocked that I haven't made this topic here yet. :V And we've been open for what almost 5 months now? Anyway post about your experiences with the paranormal, or post your believes. So I have quite a story to tell you, and this is indeed real. Back in 2009 on Halloween, my girlfriend and I thought it would be fun to make a homemade Ouija Board and mess around with it in her bedroom. Well we did, and we forgot to say goodbye to the "spirits." After messing around with the homemade Ouija Board odd things started to happen in her room and in the room across the hall from her's. If you were to be alone in her bedroom you could hear the floor creaking, as if someone was walking around. And it's only in one part of the room, right by the closet. (It still occurs, whenever we spend the night at her parents house we sleep in her old bedroom...) There's been times where it was just her and I alone in the house, and one time she was getting ready for work. So she was taking a shower, and I could have sworn I heard her scream, I freaked out and ran towards the door only to see her drying off. I asked her if she was fine and she was. Right before that happened I kept hearing a voice say my name, and it sounded exactly like my girlfriend. However it wasn't her... I hate spending the night at her parents house. x_X Also one time my girlfriend acted a bit.. strange. I spent the night with her sometime in the summer of 2010 and when we woke up she had this sinister looking grin on her face... I was a bit startled by it but granted I thought nothing of it. Then she grabs my arm and squeezes it so tight that I completely freak out, then she snaps out of it... I tell her what had happened, and of course I was freaking out. She didn't remember doing that... Say what you want but I believe in the paranormal. I believe that there are evil spirits that walk the earth without us knowing, likewise with good spirits.

First off I heard some truck pull up outside so I get up to investigate it, and it's a ambulance for pets. I saw a few people and one of those people were carrying a Siamese cat. I felt sorry for the owner, but then all of a sudden one of my co-workers appear next to me, and one of the vets walks up to us and starts hitting on her. xD (In real life she's a lesbian too... :V) All of a sudden it switches over to this next part. Two random dudes were walking around in my apartment and they were apparently some maintenance guys. In my dream I was sleeping, but I heard them talking and then I woke up in my dream. I noticed them and said "Oh hey I heard you guys talking." And they started asking me weird questions and kept saying that the neighbor's floor above us was going to collapse soon. And then the mail person apparently crashed into the front door and delivered a package to me. xD Apparently at this point though I was outside talking to the maintenance guys when some random little girl grabs my package and I try my best to run towards her and the mail man to grab the package seeing how it wasn't her's, then I woke up. :V

Soo I just thought of an awesome topic to get to know the people running MN9U! Here you may ask us questions and we'll respond to them. We'll also post a bit about ourselves to let you know more about us. (Well if we feel like it that is. xP) Anyway I'll share a few things about me. First off my favorite color is green. It's pretty much the reason why the Admin usergroup color is green. :V My favorite genre of music is video game music with my least favorites being Dubstep and Rap. My favorite gaming franchise of all time is Sonic the Hedgehog and I enjoy hacking the Sega Master System and Game Gear games. (My hobby got me a promotion to Tech Member on Sonic Retro. I go by Ravenfreak there...) I hope to become a computer programmer one day but until then I just work in retail unfortunately... >_>
